For all high school students: Celebrate culture & connection at RPS 205! Join the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council on Saturday, May 16 from 12–3 PM at Jefferson High School’s Main Gym for a powerful event showcasing history & unity across our diverse school communities.
More than 2,500 RPS 205 juniors and seniors connected with more than 40 employers at our inaugural Career Fair at the QUAD! Students explored entry-level careers, shared resumes, and discovered opportunities to start working now or after graduation.

Students in the Engineering Pathway designed, built, & programmed robots for autonomous challenges & fast-paced races. All 5 high schools competed in the Battle Botz event hosted at Rockford University. Shoutout to East for sweeping 1st, 2nd, 3rd place & Best in Show!










Due to the emergency day used on March 16, the last day of school is now Thursday, May 21 for Early Childhood, and Friday, May 22 for K-11 grades. Seniors' last day will stay the same on Friday, May 8.

All RPS 205 schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 16, due to weather. All after-school activities will also be cancelled, including Y Care. The RPS 205 Administration Building, Sterling Holley, & the Operations Support Center will be open.
Due to the emergency day used on January 23, school will now be in session on Monday, March 2.

This week, all RPS 205 high school juniors took part in College & Career Prep Week at The QUAD. Students rotated through mock interviews, resume building, financial literacy, & ACT prep sessions led by industry professionals — gaining real-world skills for life after graduation.










The Rockford Area Arts Council announced its Poetry Out Loud Regional winners! Aminah Givens from East HS earned 1st place and Mikiah Gerrity from Jefferson HS earned 2nd. Both advance to the Illinois State Competition!

The Rockford School District is closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

East High School Newcomer students proudly shared science projects with volunteers and peers. Using Google Slides and molecule models, they explained favorite molecules and real-life uses—building confidence in academic English. Many arrived in the U.S. less than a year ago.
